Self-discipline is something many of us struggle with. Whether it be at work or on the field, or some area in our lives where we don’t quite achieve as well as we are capable of. We know what we must do – but sometimes, we lack the focus and determination to do it! I can attest to that! Persevere, push through. Conquest is only achieved through a fight, victory always comes at a price. It may be hard today, but discipline and self sacrifice will always – always benefit us and are attributes which, once acquired, permeate and fertilize every aspect of our lives.
What is that weakness I am fighting against? Where can I improve? How can I build that fortitude and discipline to tackle the tasks and achieve the goals I was made for?
Food for thought.
In the meantime, let the saint himself, encourage you today.
“Conquer yourself each day from the very first moment, getting up on time on the dot, without granting a single minute to laziness. If, with the help of God, you conquer yourself in that moment, you’ll have accomplished a great deal for the rest of the day. It’s so discouraging to find yourself beaten in the first skirmish!”
~St. Josemaria Escriva.
